Brosnaham and Thieson Buildings, Pensacola, Florida
In September 2004 the ravages of Hurricane Ivan left numerous damages to
the historical downtown district of Pensacola (above left photo is before Ivan struck).
The pictures depicts the restoration process and stages to revitalize this landmark
building back to its original state. The Remainder of upper facade and decorative
cornice after the storm. Note the building in the background, The Thieson Building
damaged cornice by he hurricane which Heather & Little reproduced for the
restoration. Reproductions made from original stampings ready for cornice assembly
and floral reproduction from original stamping and cornice sections ready for installation.
THE TORONTO OLD CITY HALL COPPER ROOFING
One of the more interesting endeavours was to replace four 12-foot
gargoyles The originals were fashioned in carved stone, and
replaced by casting the new ones in bronze with stainless steel armatures
Once completed this project used an approximate total of 66-tons of 20-oz copper sheet

This project included the replacement of 26,000 square feet of 20-ounce copper batten roofing, and replicating the bulls nose copper eaves, 56 copper dormers, stamped copper cresting, and copper finials, louvers, and masts in copper sheet. The existing copper on the Clock Tower, still in very good condition, was removed reworked, incorporating new seam connection methods. All of the decorative stamped lantern cresting, dormers, and finials on the tower where removed restored, and returned to their original position. The deteriorated wood battens, and failing fasteners were all renewed. The "Centre Block" the first, of a series of restoration rehabilitation project phases, for the Canadian Parliament Buildings, in Ottawa

Selected as part of the restoration team, Heather & Little was responsible for reproducing the numerous copper elements such as leader heads, conductor boxes, inlaid rain water gutters, custom rain water leaders, domed copper turrets, and decorative frieze. All ledges, and masonry weathering received new sheet lead coverings and the entire replacement of the roof in slate and copper work. One of Ontario's oldest government buildings, the Legislative Building stands majestically in the center of "Queen's Park" Toronto.
